I started this year's ago and never finished it. Maybe I will some day, but here's the unfinished draft.
Anyone that knows me is aware that I'm a HUGE Guns N' Roses fan. More appropriately than that, I'm a big W. Axl Rose fan. There was a time however, that I couldn't stand the man, but that's a story for another time. Anyhow, this is about last night's concert that was a damned good one.
For a couple of years now Axl and the boys have been touring in other countries and frankly, I've been pretty jealous as I've had to rely on internet postings or Youtube videos (some of them being shitty) to see how they were looking and sounding. Just from some of the bad recordings, I could tell these guys meant business. The new band is pretty solid, consisting of the following members:
W. Axl Rose - vocals/piano
DJ Ashba - guitar
Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal - guitar
Richard Fortus - guitar
Tommy Stinson - bass guitar
Dizzy Reed - keyboards
Chris Pittman - keyboards
Frank Ferrer - drums
Of course you might read this and think: "This is NOT Guns N' Roses. This is Axl's cover band consisting of one original member (Dizzy Reed) and even HE wasn't an original member as he toured on the Illusions". You are right, however this IS Guns N' Roses. This is NOT a wannabe cover band. Some of these guys have been with Axl since the original band split in 1996.
