A Very Sad Day

I've had a very bad day. Chinese Democracy was released and I thought it couldn't get any better, then my truck got stuck and I had to be pushed out, then my wife's car broke down, THEN I got a call from a Sheriff's Office in Oakland, California that was urgent. 

It turns out my mother was killed on Friday night. 

We have done quite a bit of searching and did finally find an article:

woman fatally hit by car: An unidentified woman running across northbound Interstate 880 near Hegenberger Road was hit by a vehicle and killed late Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

All lanes were closed while the CHP investigated the incident, which was reported at 11:15 p.m. Spokesman Sam Morgan said Saturday evening that the victim was a Caucasian woman in her late 40s or early 50s, who was carrying no identification. The coroner's office had not yet identified her.

"The reason why she was running on the freeway, at this time is unknown," Morgan said. "There was no vehicle around."

A 23-year-old man from Salida, driving a Range Rover, hit the woman in the third lane from the right-hand shoulder, as she was running toward the center divide, Morgan said. The driver was not found to be speeding or under the influence of alcohol or other substances, Morgan added.

I don't understand why she was running across the freeway and I will probably never know. I need to get some sleep as I have been made in charge of all arrangements as I'm the oldest son and apparently that's how it works..
